The Aadhar UID Card produced and distributed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is the largest personal identification program the world has ever witnessed. Over 1.2 billion people are eligible to receive the Aadhar card. The only requirement to be eligible for an Aadhar card is that each person must be a permanent resident of India.

India's government will pay an estimated Rs. 113 per person that enrols to get an Aadhar card. That totals up to about Rs.1,35,76,80,00,000 ( Rs. 13,576 cr) if all of India's 1.2 billion residents enrol for the Aadhar card!
